Unified Speed Dribble

Please follow the safety requirements below before trying any of the challenges:
- Parent or guardian supervision is required
- Only complete challenges that you are comfortable with.
- Make sure you have a safe, open space around you so you don’t trip over anything
- Make sure you use the equipment outlined in each challenge safely and check that the equipment works properly before you use it
- Only use equipment that you are comfortable with.
- Remember, there are equipment modifications for each challenge!
- Follow the instructions in each video to ensure you are safely completing the challenges before attempting them on your own
- Ensure you are wearing proper footwear, stay hydrated, and most importantly have fun!
Important Safety Requirements Before You Start

What Are We Doing?: How many times can you and your unified partner dribble a ball in 2 minutes?
Where Should We Do It?: Driveway, sidewalk, hard floor (with permission)
What Do We Need?: Stopwatch or a timer app on your phone, basketball
How Should We Set Up?: Clear the space around you of all tripping or slipping hazards.
How Do We Do It?
1) Starting position: Hold the basketball in your right hand.
2) Set your timer/stopwatch at 30 seconds
3) Start the timer!
4) Dribble (bounce) the basketball with your right hand and count how many times you bounce the ball in 30seconds
5) Now set up again for another 30 seconds and this time use your left hand
6) Now it’s your unified partner’s turn! Have them complete steps 1-5
Scoring: Combine the total number of times you and your unified partner dribbled the ball in the 2 minutes. Athlete right hand 25 + Athlete left hand 19 + Unified Partner right hand 28 + Unified Partner left hand 22= 94

Important Safety Requirements Before You Start

What Are We Doing? Attempting to sink 10 Free Throws from 15 feet away from the basket
Where Should We Do It? Driveway, Backyard, Sidewalk
What Do We Need? Measuring tape, Basketball Net (mini net, garbage bin, large container), Basketball (soccer ball, volleyball etc. or fill a plastic bag up with clothes to make your own ball)
How Should We Set Up? Mark your “Free Throw Line” by measuring 15 feet from your Net (or basket etc). If you don’t have a measuring tape take 5 BIG steps.
How Do We Do It?
1) From your ‘Free Throw Line” throw your “ball” 10 times
2) Keep track of what happens each time (made a basket, hit the rim, missed)
3) Award the following points to each of your shots:
Made a Basket – 3 points
Hit the Rim – 1 point
Missed – 0 points
Scoring: Add up all of your points- 6 in the basket (18)+ 2 hit the rim (2)+ 2 misses= 20 points

Important Safety Requirements Before You Start

Instructions
What Are We Doing? How many passes can you make?
Where Should We Do It? Flat hard surface with a flat surface to pass to- Driveway with side of house, hard floor with wall (with permission)
What Do We Need? Masking tape/chalk, Basketball/Volleyball, Flat surface
How Should We Set Up? Measure a 12’ diameter circle at chest height on the side of the house or wall. Take 4-5 big steps back from the target.
How Do We Do It?
1) Using a chest pass motion throw the ball at the target 10 times
2) Count how many times you hit the target
3) Now use a bounce pass motion 10 times
4) Count how many times you hit the target
Scoring: Add up how many times you hit the target using both the chest pass and bounce pass for your total number of target hits. Chest passes 6+ Bounce Passes 4= 10 Total target hits.
