UCS 2027 Orillia Provincial Track & Field Meet & Unified Youth Leadership Summit – Application

All eligible schools must apply by January 15 at 5:00 PM to be considered for the Provincial Experience. What is the Provincial Experience Event? In 2027, Year 1 of the school championships’ recurring 2-Year Cycle will feature a small-scale, non-qualification-based, province-wide Track and Field meet and Unified Youth Leadership Summit. This event will follow a model similar to our now biannual provincial school championships.

School Eligibility

To be considered for the Bi-Annual Provincial School Experience, schools must meet the following requirements:
Must complete at least one initiative per pillar during the school year. And Submitted the UCS Report.
NOTE: If fundraising is a barrier, schools must inform SOO and provide documentation. This will not affect eligibility or selection. ALSO NOTE: SOO will not be charging registration fees this year. Fundraising is in place of the fees

This can be a letter, email from your Principal, or School Board saying they endorse and support your participating in the Provincial event if selected.

Note: Schools can submit an application for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 athletes. All selected athletes and Unified partners must be registered with Special Olympics and must have participated in at least one UCS event during the school year. Schools may select eligible athletes and Unified partners at their discretion. Schools are not required to bring Unified partners. If they do, they may bring up to 4 Unified partners. Educators/Coaches: The maximum amount of coaches per schools is 2 Please indicate the students & coaches that yu plan to have participate below:

A minimum/maximum of 4 students can participate in track & field. If bringing a unified team. 2 students must be special olympics athletes the other 2 students must be unified parters (1:1 athlete to partner ratio)

A minimum of 2 students & a maximum of 4 students can participate in the Youth leadership summit. If bringing a unified group you must fulfill a 1 to 1 athlete to unified partner ratio. (Ex. if you bring two students one must be a Special Olympics athlete the other must be a unified partner).
